SRMC Signs on as Presenting Sponsor of March for Babies with CEO Phillip Wright as Chairman

Milton, FL – April 27, 2012 – More than 32,000 of Florida’s babies will be born premature this year, and Santa Rosa Medical Center CEO Phillip Wright is working with the March of Dimes to change this. Santa Rosa Medical Center has signed on as the presenting sponsor of this year’s March for Babies, and Mr. Wright has committed to be the event chairman.  March for Babies is scheduled for Saturday, May 5 at 8 a.m. in Pensacola’s Bayview Park.

March for Babies, the March of Dimes’ largest fundraiser, helps fund lifesaving research and educational programs aimed at helping moms have healthy babies.   Those interested in participating can sign up now at www.marchforbabies.org and start a team with co-workers, family or friends.

“This campaign gives me a unique opportunity to help educate the Santa Rosa and Escambia communities about the importance of moms having full term pregnancies.  The money we raise through March for Babies will go directly to further the mission of the March of Dimes,” said Phillip Wright, walk chairman and Santa Rosa Medical Center CEO.  “One in 7 of our babies here in Florida are born premature, and we cannot settle for that.”

“We’re so excited to have Phillip on board to help us,” said Kim Tatum, Gulf Coast Division Director for the March of Dimes.  “His passion for the cause and commitment to helping our babies will be a huge driving factor in the success of our event this year. We are grateful for the time and support he’s able to lend us.”
