Royals are Runner-Up in District 1 – updated with photos

The Royals lost to Holmes County 8-5 on Thursday night.  The Royals never gave up but were unable to stop the Blue Devils.  The Royals will travel to play the winner of District 1 on Tuesday, May 8th.  Coach Jorey Diamond had this to say about the game, ” We had a couple of bad breaks, but we also gave them some extra chances, and hopefully it will bounce our way in the next game.”

The Blue Devils jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but the Royals answered back in the third bringing the score to 3-1.  A pitching change for the Royals to start the third due to the Blue Devils picking up 4 runs.  The Royals fell behind 7-3 in the fourth.  They were able to pick up one run in the bottom of the inning.  But the Blue Devils were able to bring in another run in the 7 to bring the score to 8-5.
