Lady Royals Advance to Championship Game
The Jay High Lady Royals advance to the championship game with their 11-6 win over Chipley. The Lady Royals jumped out early to get a 6-0 lead. Olivia Wright started the scoring with a lead off single, Ashlynn Geck laid down a perfect bunt, then the number 3 battter, Tessa Hendricks, was hit by a pitch, then Becca Calloway drew a walk, then 1st baseman, Camille Driver had a 2 RBI single . In almost the same scenario the third inning the Lady Royals Olivia Wright singled, followed by a bunt by Geck, then Tessa and Becca singled, then they scored on 2 wild pitches.
Camille had a great night at the plate going 2-4 with 3 RBI’s and scoring a run. Ashlynn Geck had three sacrifice bunts during the game.
The Lady Royals are headed to the championship game on Thursday night in Baker at 6 pm. The Lady Royals will face Bonifay (Holmes County). Bonifay defeated Baker 9-1.
