John D. Nelson, Jr.

John D. Nelson Jr., age 69, of Berrydale passed away on April 15, 2012. He was born on August 4, 1942 in Brewton, Alabama to John D. and Leah Mae Nelson. His passions were fishing and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Dewayne Nelson; brothers, Norman Nelson and William “Red” Nelson. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joan Nelson; son Kevin (Angie) Nelson; brothers, Abram (Kathy) Nelson and Cecil (Marilyn) Nelson; sisters, Eloise Blair and Altamae (Bill) McAnally and 2 grandchildren, Garrett and Chase Nelson. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Berrydale Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Berrydale Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Gandy officiating services. Burial will follow at Berrydale Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Randy Ashworth, Rodney Ashworth, Shawn Cooper, Tracey Cooper, Keith Nelson, William Nelson, Alan Roberts and Michael Wade. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Floyd, Curtis Jordan and StephenBack
