Walking for cancer victims

Kids walked with determination to honor area cancer victims.

Daniel Goforth, R, at post time, had raised the highest dollar amount at Jay Elementary for Relay for Life. The 5th grader raised $160.

Austin Ashworth not only helped to raise money for cancer research, but he gave $50 of his own birthday money in honor of his grandfather, Ronald Joe Ashworth, who passed away only a few short weeks ago, on March 1. His crew cut hair has grown out following the shaving of his head to show solidarity with his grandfather following treatment.

  1. Austin's Proud Mama

I am so proud of Austin. He has such a caring, compassionate heart. I know his Pawpaw is very proud of him, as well. Happy Birthday in Heaven, Ronald Joe.
