Jay Tennis Keeps on Swinging

The Jay High Royals Tennis Team keeps swinging their way to wins.  The boys and girls won against West Florida Tech on Thursday afternoon.

The Lady Royals got their 4th win of the season with a score of 6-1.  Coach Melvin Kersey said, “I am glad they got the win, they went out an competed real well, and I believe gave their best overall effort of the season.”  Scores for the Lady Royals were: Hillary Hendricks 8-1, Emily Russell 8-4, Sarah Whitehead 8-4, Allison Russell 7-9, Carly Owens 8-1, Doubles: Hillary/Emily 8-2, Sarah/ Allison 8-2.

The Royals extended their 8 game winning streak going 5-2 in the meet with two sets ending in tie-breakers.   “I am real proud of their effort, they have come a long way this year”, said Ch. Kersey.  Scores for the Royals were: Evan Goodson 9-8, Eric Travino 8-5, Cody Paramore 8-6, Justice Garcia 9-8, Dylan Wolfe 6-8, Doubles: Evan/Eric 8-5, Cody/Justice 4-8.

The Royals have their last meet away against W.S. Neal.  The games will be played at the City of Brewton Park, located near the hospital.
