Royals Lose Heartbreaker against Walton

The Jay High Royals fell in the 8th inning 6-4 against Walton.  The teams battled back and forth the entire game.  Tied 3 all in the third, then 4 all through the seventh.  Walton came out to score 2 in the top of the 8th and the Royals came to bat and with 2 outs, Connor Weekes drew a walk, but they were not able to bring him home.

Coach Jorey Diamond stated, “the boys are disheartened, this makes 3 tough losses late in the game, I have faith in them that we can  turn this around in the second half of the season”.

Stats for the Royals: Dalton Edwards -3 IP, 3 K’s, 6 Hits, 3 Runs; Chandler Burgess -5 IP, 6K’s, 5 Hits, 3 Runs; Sammy James 1-3, Tyler Prescott 2-4, RBI, Chandler Burgess 1-4;  Connor Weekes and Logan Brown both had a RBI.
