Arrest Made in Carjacking

The suspects responsible for the armed carjacking that occurred yesterday evening in Gulf Breeze have been arrested. Pensacola Police Officers located the stolen vehicle earlier this morning at the “Travel Inn” located at 1801 W. Cervantes Street, Pensacola, FL. Officers spoke with management and found that the suspects had rented a room at the hotel on 3/10/12 at approximately 2200 hours. Based on the information received, officers attempted to contact the suspects inside, however the suspects refused to come to the door. Pensacola Police SWAT responded and the immediate area was evacuated and cordoned off while officers obtained a search warrant for the room. After a few hours, as SWAT was preparing to make entry, the suspects voluntarily exited the room and were taken into custody without incident. The victim in the case positively identified all three suspects. The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is currently interviewing the suspects and the recovered vehicle was towed to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Officers located and recovered a handgun hidden in the toilet tank in the hotel room. The names and demographics of the suspects is not available at this time. The specific charges will be released as soon as they become available.
