Teenager has Accident in High Speed Chase

Tyler Blake Warrick, 18 of Pace, FL  was northbound on Stephens Rd. traveling at a high rate of speed. Warrick was attempting to flee from units of the Santa Rosa County Sheriffs Dept. As Warrick was attempting to elude the deputies, his 2001 Mercedes C320 attempted to make a right turn from Stephens Rd onto eastbound Vern St. Due to the excessive speed, Warrick was unable to negotiate the turn. The car struck the curb on the westbound lane of Vern St. Upon striking the curb the car traveled off the roadway striking some ornamental shrubbery. The car traveled 26 feet before striking a chain link fence that surrounded the retention pond behind the Sonic Drive Inn. After striking the fence it continued an additional 50 feet before coming to rest in the back parking area of the Sonic Drive Inn parking lot. Warrick was then taken into custody by the Santa Rosa County Sheriffs Dept. and transferred to West Florida Hospital with minor injuries.
