March is Brown Bag Madness Month @ Your Library

Feed your body and mind in March at Navarre Library’s Brown Bag Lunch Madness series. For the month of March only, the educational program will take place every Wednesday, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Navarre Library meeting room located at 8484 James Harvell Road . You bring a lunch and drink, and we’ll provide an interesting and interactive presentation. Each program is free, open to the public and no registration is required.  ·March 7 – “Playing With Your Food.” Accredited Floral Design Instructor, Linda Henderson, returns to demonstrate more designs using fruits and vegetables, and she will focus on March holidays, St. Patrick’s Day and Easter. She will also repeat the favorite ones like a lemon basket and a “duck” made from a yellow squash. This fun program will make you smile; you will have so much fun recreating these easy-to-make designs in the privacy of your own kitchen.

·March 14 – World War II memoirs will be shared by local author, Don Schroeder of Destin, and by Dr. Bob Godwin from Panama City , who will bring an actual artifact from Gen. Patton that he has kept with him since the Battle of the Bulge.

·March 21 – Accomplished beader Doreen Ragon will demonstrate how to make beads from paper. Paper beading requires minimal and inexpensive materials, and there are numerous uses for your finished product.

·March 28 – Local genealogist and librarian, Vickey Baggot, will introduce the 1940 Census which is scheduled for release on April 2. The seventy-two year privacy restriction is almost over, allowing family historians to access schedules from the sixteenth census of the United States which counted over 132 million people living in 48 states.
