Central Lady Jags fall to Rocky Bayou
The Central Lady Jags lost the softball game to the Rocky Bayou Knights 14-5. Coach Daniel Baxley, said, ” the girls had a rough start, they never quit and really showed heart.” The Lady Jags have been beset with injuries and illness already this season. Michelle Smith, assistant coach, stated, “we have been unable to play with the same infield this season.” Today in the game, first baseman, Ryan Stull, was injured while applying a tag. Several Lady Jags had hits in the game: Arielle Harris, Taylor Mitchell, Courtney Rutherford (double) and Sarah Forsythe (2 hits, double). The Lady Jags had two great defensive plays, one a running catch by centerfielder, Sarah Forsythe in the 5th and then in the 6th inning, the shortstop made a diving catch in a fantastic play. The Lady Jags have a big week with the opening district game tomorrow at Malone and then hosting Bethlehem on Thursday at 5pm.
