Driver Fleeing Police Causes Accident

Matthew J. Mullikin, 29, of Navarre  was eastbound on U.S.98 in the inside lane driving a 2003 Yamaha Motorcyle. He  was attempting to flee and elude Deputy James Vaughn of the Santa Rosa County Sheriffs Department.  Mullikin was traveling at a very high rate of speed. Vehicle 2, driven by Mary R. Woodall 17 of Navarre,  was westbound on U.S.98 and was attempting to make a left turn into the parking lot of Pensacola State College. Woodall  turned into the path of the motorcycle driven by Mulllikin causing the motorcycle to strike the right rear of her 2003 Pontiac Sunbird. After impact  Mullikin continued eastbound before overturning onto its right side. The motorcycle traveled 378 feet before coming to final rest on the eastbound shoulder. Charges are pending in the accident.  Mullikin was transported to Baptist Hospital in serious condition. Woodall had no injuries although she had an estimated $2000 in damages to her car.
