Pensacola Sports Association Announces Date for COX Annual Awards Banquet
Individual and Corporate Tables Available for March 15 Event
The Pensacola Sports Association (PSA) will host the COX Annual Awards Banquet on Thursday, March 15 at Sanders Beach Community Center in Pensacola at 6:00 P.M.
The PSA will honor many athletes from a variety of sports who have excelled in their sport in 2011. Athletes from high school, college, and the professional level will be recognized for their outstanding achievements.
Reservations are required. Tickets are available at the Pensacola Sports Association through March 13. Tickets are $30 for Pensacola Sports Association members and $40 for non-members. Corporate tables are available; please call the PSA at 850-434-2800 for more information.
Volunteer of the Year and the Sportsman of the Year will be announced at the banquet, along with individuals being inducted into the PSA Hall of Fame. Other award recipients and the guest speaker will be announced next week.
Some of the previous winners of the Professional Athlete of the Year award have been Johanna Long, Josh Sitton, Heath Slocum, Derrick Brooks, Joe Durant, Roy Jones Jr., Fred Robbins, Emmitt Smith, and Lawrence Tynes.
Prior Amateur Athletes of the Year include Mike Johnson, Shakira Duncan, Joe Anoai, Aaron Boyleston, Matt Dobson, Justin Gatlin, Nick Rousey, George Selvie and Kevin Warrick.

About PSA – The PSA is one of the oldest sports associations/commissions in the United States, beginning in 1954. Today the PSA manages or assists in numerous events a year throughout the Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa county areas. Events include a high school all-star series, flag football, 5K-15K runs, marathons, triathlons, bicycle races, collegiate national championships, and annual awards and scholarships banquets to name a few.
