Upgraded Tennis Courts On the Way for Jay City Park

County Commissioner, Don Salter, in his monthly newsletter has stated that the tennis courts at the Town of Jay Recreation Park will be upgraded.  This is great news for Jay High School’s Tennis Team.  Coach Melvin Kersey, brought the condition of the courts to the attention of the Town of Jay.

The newsletter states, ” In district 3, we have several new recreational projects under way: a new community center and voting precinct facility at the Santa Rosa Sportsplex, which is a joint project between districts 1 and 3; upgraded tennis courts at the Town of Jay Recreational Park, which is a joint project between the Town of Jay and district 3; the new Chumuckla Springs boat ramp, which has cleared all state permitting and will be under construction soon. All of these projects are investments into the future of Santa Rosa County. ”

The Jay community is privileged to have lighted tennis courts that are available to use year round.  The Town of Jay has provided and maintained  these courts for many years and with all the rising cost it is nice that the county is helping with the upgrade.

Wow, this is great news. The courts are almost dangerous for the kids to twist an ankle or knee. Thanks to all who helped accomplish this.
