Jay Man Loses Life in Single Vehicle Accident

Jeffery Leonard Jackson, 47, of Jay was pronounced dead at the scene of a single vehicle accident on Old Flomaton Road, Thursday, Feb. 23 around 6pm.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Mr. Jackson was driving a 1994 Nissan Sentra  and  traveling northbound on Old Flomaton Road at an extremely high rate of speed. He left the road to the northeast,  applied the brakes and skidded along the grass and dirt shoulder traveling northbound. The front of his car struck a large Oak tree and came to a abrupt stop. Jeffery was pronounced deceased on scene by Escambia EMS.
