Seniors Step Up and Force the Win Over the Hurricanes

The Senior duo of Tyler Prescott and Todd Laney contained the Flomaton Hurricanes on Monday night in the Royals win 65-53.  Coach Lance Youngblood said, ” It was a special night, for a special group of seniors, who worked hard putting in numerous hours to have success they have had this year,  I am proud of each and everyone of them.”

Tyler Prescott had an amazing 25 points and 16 rebounds combined with Todd Laney’s 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 asssits that overpowered any offense the Hurricanes had.   Tyler was hot and the Royals passed the ball to him for the shot at the buzzer in the first, second and third quarters and he scored to give the Royals the momentum. Todd scored on 9 out of 12 freethrows late in the fourth widening the score for the Royals.  With three Royals in double digits they just would not be denied tonight.  The Royals capitalized on the Hurricanes decision to foul and throughout the game the Royals shot 20 for 31 free throws (65%).  And 75% in the fourth quarter.  The Royals will face the Central Jaguars Friday Night for the last home game of the season.

Scoring for the Royals: Tyler Prescott -25 points, Todd Laney -19 points, Dalton Edwards -13 points, Eric Travino -6 points, Brandon Boutwell -2 points.

Jay vs Flomaton

 

The Jay Junior Varsity also won tonight 38 to 30.  Scoring for the Royals were: Marshall Thomas 14 points, Taylor Kelley 11 points, Victor Mishoe 9 points, Holden McCaskill 2 points,  and Dakota Cassidy 2 points.
