Prescott scores 20 points in Loss to Chipley
Jay High School boys basketball fans saw some good basketball Friday night Jan. 27, 2012, in a 67-39 loss to Chipley, at the Jay High Gymnasium. Tyler Prescott led the Royals in points scored with 20.
”Chipley has a fine ball team, one of the best in this area. I’m very proud of how we played, the odds were stacked against us but we didn’t look at the odds,” said Coach Lance Youngblood, whose squad includes 4 seniors. Scoring for the Royals were: Tyler Prescott 20 points; Todd Laney 8 points; Eric Travino 7 points; Haden McCaskill 2 points and Tate Upton 2 points.
Seniors: Todd Laney, Tyler Prescott, Haden McCaskill and Quinten Garcia will be honored with a special ceremony on senior night, Monday Jan. 31st when the Jay Royals play the Flomaton Hurricanes for their last home game of the season. The JV game starts at 5:00 and the varsity at 6:15.
The first round of district tournament starts Tuesday Feb. 7th in Freeport with Jay playing Baker at 6:00 pm.
