Central wins in the last seconds of the game against PCA
The Central Jaguars, according to Coach Tony McDonald, “are very, very lucky”. The Jaguars trailing by 10 with 2 minutes left in the game against PCA came back by sheer determination to win 51-49 in the final seconds with a steal and lay up by Bryce Kareski. Coach Mac was elated at the win and stated, “the boys played hard, every second of the game, and they never quit”.
The Jaguars started the game unable to contain the Warriors’ offense and were quickly down 2-12. From that point on the Jaguars fought hard to keep up. They would come close and even tie the game but slip back to a 10 point separation. The coaches and boys made adjustments on the court and continued until they won the battle. The Jags hammered away inside to finally take the lead.
Scoring in the win were: Victor Dixon 4; Bryce Kareski 9; Nick Waters 10; Gavin Richardson 10; and leading was Zac Wright with 18 points.
Scoring by quarters: 9/19; 20/25; 30/36; 51/49
Central now has a 11-10 record for the season. They will face rival Jay Royal at Jay on Friday, Feb. 3 at 6:45 pm for their last regular season game.
