New Midwife – Robin Crum
PENSACOLA, Fla. (Jan. 26, 2012) – Baptist Hospital and Baptist Medical Group welcome Robin Crum, an experienced board-certified nurse midwife, to the Baptist Medical Group – Ladies First OB/GYN practice in Pensacola.
Crum offers women on the Gulf Coast with exciting options for a unique, personal childbirth experience within a hospital setting. In addition to obstetric care, Crum provides on-going traditional well-woman annual exams and birth control consultations. In total, she has more than 25 years of experience in providing personalized care for women during childbirth, including as a labor and delivery nurse and six years as a certified nurse-midwife.

She brings with her a wealth of knowledge to complement our Family-Centered Maternity Care model here at Baptist,” says David Wildebrandt, administrator, Baptist Hospital. “Midwifery-assisted births are on the rise in the United States and Baptist is excited to mirror this trend locally by offering this type of one-on-one attention for families that prefer an alternative method for delivery.”
Crum is passionate about taking the time to help educate women so they can make informed choices about their growing family, including pre- and post-partum education, discussion of alternative birthing options, individualized birth plan development and family planning guidance.
“It’s important to me that all my expectant mothers understand childbirth to be a natural occurrence for their bodies and a truly special time in their lives. I’m here to help ensure that they remain healthy, happy and cared for on their journey to motherhood,” says Crum.
Crum completed her Masters degree in midwifery at Philadelphia University in Philadelphia, Penn, and is board certified in midwifery from the American Midwifery Certification Board.
Crum will work alongside the board certified OB/GYN physicians of Baptist Medical Group-Ladies First OB/GYN. She will see patients in two convenient Pensacola area locations: Baptist Medical Group – Ladies First OB/GYN’s main office at 3417 12th Avenue and at Baptist Hospital’s main campus. At 1717 N.
