Becca Calloway signs with PSC
Rebecca Leigh Calloway, 17, a student at Jay High School will be signing with Pensacola State College for a Softball Scholarship today, Wednesday, January 25, 2012. Her parents are Keith & Mandy Holland. Becca has two sisters, Samantha Calloway (20) and Leigha Holland (6). Her Gradparents are Philip & Sue Kelly of Byrneville and Billy & Mary Jane Holland of Jay.
Becca started playing T-ball at age 4. She went on to playing softball at age 7. Many times she was running around at about age 3 while her sister, Samantha, and friends and family, Steven & Keegan were in T-ball. Becca was selected for the Tri-County All Stars every year she played. She made All Area 2nd Team in 2011. Becca holds the position of Catcher at Jay High School she hopes to play the same for PSC but will be open and excited to play any position at PSC.

Becca most enjoys “The excitement felt during a game, gaining experience, spending time with my team mates and the adrenaline felt when you hit that homerun!”
While at PSC she plans to study Physical Therapy. Some of Becca’s achievements and interests are: All Area 2nd Team in 2011; Varsity Basketball 4 years; Varsity Softball 6 years; Beta Club (Parliamentarian); SGA (District Treasurer); Senior Class Vice-President; NAHS (President); CWO (President), NHS, RHO KAPPA (Vice-President); Spanish Club, Science Club. Currently has a 4.0 GPA
Mom, Mandy Holland, states, “ I am very proud of Becca’s athletic achievements. She has a God given talent and loves using it. She is a very dedicated, hardworking and motivated individual. She sets high goals for herself and is her worst critic. She works hard to keep her team pumped up and motivated. She is an encourager. She works just as hard off the field as she has managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA while playing both softball and basketball. I am very grateful for the scholarship PSC is giving to Becca and for the opportunities she will be given.”
