Relay for Life Kick-Off Party
The Kick-Off Party for the Jay Relay For Life was held January 17, 2012 at the Jay Community Center with more than one hundred in attendance. Each table was decorated by teams with 2012 Relay for life theme “ Ordinary Heroes”. The evening began with a warm welcome by the Event Chair-Jody Williams.
The American Cancer Staff Partner, Sally Cary presented “The Santa Rosa County Nationwide Top 10 per Capita Award” to Jay Relay for Life group. This award means that Jay raised more money Per person than other cities.
Bro. Lennie Howard was also present and delivered the blessing of the food. We all enjoyed the special moments of a slide show of past relay events prepared by EREC.
There were a few sad times when we remembered a lost loved one …But there was a lot of happy memories of pictures as we worked to raise money to help others………..Our Survivors ……..

We are very happy that Century and Chumuckla will be participating with us this year and hope you will come out and enjoy the events and fund raisers. Jody announced the total money raised so far…….that total is $14,568.60……We have a good start towards our goal……Please look for up-coming events and join us for the fun and fellowship.
Team Fund Raiser events will include Mt Carmel Church- Wild Game Dinner, Amedisys-Yard Sale, EREC-tickets for a chance to win a Dozen Roses for Valentine’s Day, a spa package for Easter (Hair Cut, tanning and Manicure), Jay United Methodist Church– raffle tickets for a weed-end at Pensacola Portofino Resort and Day Spa, Jay Elementary Mini Relay walk at Jay Elementary, Jay Hospital Tickets for a Valentine Basket (Movie tickets, Certificate for David’s Catfish, Candy, Jewelry, Beauty Products)
