Pedestrian hit by Vehicle- survives with only minor injuries

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle around 12:25 pm on Tuesday, January 17, 2012.  John Michael Richardson, 18, of Pace was driving eastbound on Norris Rd.  The pedestrian, Hannah Broadwater, 14, of Pace, was walking with a group of students westbound on the eastbound sidewalk of Norris Rd.  Several students had crossed the roadway and were waiting on Hannah.  John Richardson, had slowed down due to the pedestrians.  Hannah in her haste to cross the roadway and join her friends failed to look back to the west and failed to observe Richardson’s vehicle.  Hannah darted into the path of Richardson’s 2011 Nissan Juke and the right front of the vehicle struck Hannah.  Hannah was taken to Sacred Heart with minor injuries.  No charges are filed.
