Arrest made after Burglar returns to Crime Scene
Burglar Gets Arrested After Returning To The Scene
An Escambia county man was arrested on New Year’s Eve for breaking into a house and returning a short time later to attempt to break into another house. Deputies say that Christopher Dewayne Grice, was seen fleeing from a house in the 5700 block of East Shore Dr. after the homeowner responded to the alarm activating. The homeowner noticed several pieces of jewelry missing from inside the house.
About an hour and a half later, deputies responded to the 5700 block of Fairview Dr., which is next door to the first burglary, for a possible burglary in progress. Once on scene, deputies observed Grice fleeing from the area. Deputies quickly set up a perimeter and began to track Grice with a K-9. Grice was located a short time later and refused to comply with deputy’s commands to surrender. Grice was subsequently apprehended by a Sheriff’s Office K-9. Grice received minor injuries during the incident.
Grice was still in possession of property from the first burglary at the time of his arrest. Grice was booked in the Escambia County Jail under a $22,000.00 bond.
