Hit and Run near Cross City Florida
Henry Thomas Knight, 71, of Cross City, FL died from injuries he received in a hit and run on Thursday, December 22. Henry was riding his bicycle southbound on State Road 55 in the northbound lanes close to or within the paved apron and the unknown pickup was traveling northbound. Mr. Knight was struck in the front with the right front and right side of Vehicle 1, after this Henry traveled onto the east shoulder where he expired from his injuries. The pickup truck left the scene of this crash. A Traffic Homicide Investigation is being conducted and the FHP need your help.
FHP Investigators are asking the public to be on the look out for a Chevy or GMC pickup of the S10, C1500, C2500 or C3500 model. The suspect truck should have significant damage to the right front grille and right side mirror area. This 2003- 2005 truck is believed to be a “stealth gray metallic” color that should have a bluish tint to it.
