North Santa Rosa

A Christmas Tradition

Christmas Tradition begins with family.  One of ours is to look at Christmas Lights.  A recent trip to look at area Christmas Lights took us a little longer but it was definitely worth the drive.

Bellingrath Gardens is not just about the flowers.  You can visit the lighted gardens, take a tour of the historic home of William and Bessie Bellingrath, grab a bite to eat at the cafe, visit the gift shop or tour the museum of Boehm Porcelain.

Walking through the gardens with Christmas music playing in the background, lights winking from the various displays brings smiles and laughter to the crowds.

The 15 room home of the Bellingrath’s is a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of the lights.  You can see how the other half lived.  Visit the large kitchen and see the original dishwashers.

Close to the end of the garden tour there is a special “chapel” showcasing the Nativity.  As you walk down the path a feeling of  serenity passes over the spectators. As you near the scene, voices are lowered and many recall the “reason for the season”.

Send in your  best holiday memory for our Christmas article .

May God Bless all of our Readers this season.
