Central Sweeps Rocky Bayou in all Four Games
The Central Jaguars sweep the Rocky Bayou Knights in all four games in Friday’s basketball action.
The Varsity Boys had a big win 67-20 over the Knights. The boys dominated the court and had a running clock from mid way through the 2nd quarter until the end. Gavin Richardson led the Jaguars with 18 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. Others scoring for the Jaguars were: Zac Wright -14, Bryce Koreski -12, Victor Dixon -8, Dalton Wright -7, Wendall Cooley – 6, and Nick Waters -2. Victor Dixon also had 4 steals.
The Lady Jags Varsity captured a the lead in the first, and controlled the ball for the rest of the game winning 45-21. Scoring for the Lady Jags were: Natelie Jernigan -12,Sarah Forsythe -11, Makayla Simmons – 9, Myranda Jernigan -6, Brittney Forsythe -2, Hayleigh Padgett -2, Jessica Adams -2 and Alliana Marrow -1.
The JV Boys won 31-20. The boys scored 11 points in the third and kept the Knights to 8 points in the entire second half of play. Scoring for the Jaguars were: Shai Jackson -13, Cody Abel -6, Justin Abel -4, Alex Johnson -2, Nolan Frady -2, Tanner Lucas -2, and Chase Dixon -2.
The JV Lady Jags had no trouble with Rocky Bayou 37-5. The girls jumped ahead scoring 17 points in the first quarter and held the Knights from scoring until the 4th. Scoring for the Jags were: Sarah Bone -11, Sarah Smith -11, Haley Gauthier – 8, T Smith -5, and Sarah Balk -2.
