Jay High Christmas Tournament Monday Results
The Annual Jay High Christmas Basketball Tournament is underway. The Lady Royals and the Lady Jaguars won their first game and will face each other in the Championship game on Tuesday at 6 pm. The boys from PCA will face the home team, Jay Royals, in the championship at 7:15 pm.
Northview girls will play PCA at 3 pm to start the games on Tuesday. Then Central boys will play Northview boys for third place at 4:15.
Monday night games recap:
3 pm Central vs Northview — Central 41-30 Scoring in the win for Central were: Brittany Forsythe 2, Allaina Marrow 2, Haliegh Padgett 2, Sarah Forsyth 14 and Makayla Simmons 19.
4:15 Jay vs PCA –Jay 52-19 Scoring in the win for the Lady Royals were: Tessa Hendricks 19, Hillary Hendricks 22, Emily Russell 1, Samantha Steadham 2, Taylor Moore 4 and Becca Calloway4.
6:00 Central vs PCA — PCA 43- 37. Central fought hard and carried the lead at the half but was unable to stop PCA’s big man under the goal. Scoring for Central were: Victor Dixon 7,
Bryce Kareski 4, Wendell Cooley 3, Nick Waters 7, Gavin Richardson 2, Dalton Wright 3 and Zac Wright 11.
7:15 Jay vs Northview –Jay 67-41 Jay never slowed down, they captured an early lead and maintained it the rest of the game. Ch. Lance Youngblood was proud of the boys, “The are playing like a team – by putting others ahead of themselves”. Scoring in the win for the Royals were: Todd Laney 19, Eric Travino 11, Tate Upton 8, Tyler Prescott 22, Brandon Boutwell 2 and Quinten Garcia 3. Tyler Prescott had his 2nd double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds and he also had 4 steals.
