Raymond Glen “R.G.” Daugett

Raymond Glen “R.G.” Daugett, age 85 of Jay, Florida, passed away peacefully into his Savior’s arms on November 19, 2011.  R.G. was born on September 15, 1925 in Jay, Florida.  R.G. was retired from the Escambia River Electric Co-operative after almost 38 years of dedicated employment.  He was known to his co-workers as “Chief”.  R.G. was an Army veteran of WWII.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, riding and showing Tennessee Walking horses, fishing, hunting, farming and bailing hay.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Amogene Cannon Daugett and granddaughter, Kimberly Dale Ray.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years,  Wavolene Daugett; daughter, Kristi (Glenn) Ray; son Gary (Nancy) Daugett; and daughter Robbi (Larry) Glover; grandchildren: Cheryl (Don) Harang, Heather (Lloyd) Boudreaux, Adam Chance Ray, Joshua Daugett, Justin Daugett, Jeremiah Daugett, Rachael (Anthony Martinez) Glover, and Sabrina (Jonathon) Tutt;; Great-grandchildren, Lauren Fuqua, Aubrey Grace Boudreaux, Emma Kate Boudreaux, Landon Boudreaux, Paige Boudreaux, Laryn Kimmons, Jaysa Martinez, Madisan Martinez, Kylei Martinez,  Mason Tutt, and Weslyn “Addie” Tutt; one great-great-grandchild Bailey Fuqua; Special friends, Walt Branson, Jr. and Donald Boutwell.

Funeral Services will be held at Jay First Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11:00 am with Bro. Mike Henderson, Bro. Chip Fox, and Bro. William Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Jay Cemetery.  A visitation will be held on Monday at the Jay Funeral Home from 6 pm until 8 pm.

Active Pallbearers will be: Joshua Daugett, Justin Daugett, Jeremiah Daugett, Jonathon Tutt, Adam Chance Ray, Lloyd Boudreaux III, and Anthony Martinez.  Honorary Pallbearers are: Richard Penton, Billy Jordan, Charles Smith, Donald Boutwell, David Deese, Lee Deese, Walt Branson, Jr. , Bobby Carnley, Bert Settle, Clay Campbell, Darrell Bond, Ovie Bond, Wesley Scott, Bill Patrick, Earl Youngblood, Randall Ashworth, Oakland Ard, Richard Meadows, Max Houston, Dale Westmoreland, Clarence Smith and Frank Green.

A special thank you to Dr. C. David Smith and staff, Maxine Ivey, and Covenant Hospice employees: Tracey, Tim, Kathy and Al.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be given to the Projector/Screen fund at Jay First Baptist Church, PO Box 59, Jay, Florida 32565.

Jay Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
