Lady Royals win XC District Meet
The Lady Royals won the District 1 Class 2A meet Saturday, November 5th. The Royals had 6 girls place in the top 15 runners. The team won the meet easily with a score of 31, with PCA coming in 2nd with a score of 72 and Central placed 3rd with 95 points. The girls coached by Stan Blackman, have had a great season. They are a solid team with all of the girls running in the top 20 in most all meets. This is the first Cross Country District title that the Lady Royals have brought home since 2003. The Regional Meet will be located at Alligator Park, Lake City, Fl at 8 am on Saturday, November 12th.
Times for the girls were:
Jessica Thorton 21:16 3rd; Jorja Agrait 21:30 4th; Allison Blair 22:21 6th; Savannah Brown 23:02 8th; Jenna Thorton 23:15 10th; Ally Settle 23:17 11th; and Shelby Thomas 24:00 16th.
The Royal Boys XC team was unable to qualify as a team for the District meet due to injuries and illnesses. Micah Kemp, had a good race and came in 3rd. This qualifies him as an individual to advance to the Regional Meet. Micah ran a 18:19. Cody Wolfe finished in the 20th slot and Mark Foley followed in the 32nd position.
