Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeon Leslie Barnes, M.D.
PENSACOLA, Fla. (November 3, 2011) Baptist Medical Group welcomes Leslie Barnes, M.D., a fellowship-trained orthopaedic trauma specialist, now providing care at Baptist Hospital’s state-approved level II trauma center. Together with Dr. Jason Rocha and in partnership with The Andrews Institute, Baptist Hospital now offers the area’s only specialized orthopaedic trauma team dedicated exclusively to fracture care.
Dr. Barnes completed her undergraduate work at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, in 1998. She earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Mich., followed by her residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, La., and fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center in Birmingham, Ala. She is a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
The orthopaedic trauma team sees patients admitted through the Baptist Hospital Emergency Department and does not take direct referrals at this time. Their clinic, where patient follow-up appointments take place, is located in Baptist Medical Tower 1, suite 208 on Baptist Hospital’s campus in Pensacola, Fla.
