Bras Across the Bridge
2 nd Annual “Bras Across the Bridge”
PENSACOLA, Fla. (Oct. 18, 2011) – Baptist Health Care, Cox, Portofino Boardwalk and Soft Rock 94.1 are teaming up to offer the second annual “Bras Across the Bridge” on Saturday, October 22, 8 a.m. on the Bob Sikes Bridge. Breast cancer survivors, their loved ones and the community are invited to join together to increase breast cancer awareness.
Participants can park and register at the AppRiver complex on Gulf Breeze Parkway or at the Amphitheatre on Portofino Boardwalk on Pensacola Beach beginning at 7 a.m. The first 500 participants will receive a pink “Bras Across the Bridge” T-shirt. Participation is $10 per person plus donation of a new or new-like bra. The bras will be proudly displayed across the bridge as a show of awareness and support for breast cancer. After the event, the bras will be donated to a local women’s shelter, and funds raised will be donated to Baptist Health Care Foundation’s Mammogram Fund.
Prizes will be awarded for the largest fundraisers including tickets for Jim Brickman at Pensacola’s Saenger Theatre on November 11; tickets for Pensacola Interstate Fair; and tickets for American English, a Beatles Tribute band, at the Saenger on October 27.
