Terrace Opens Doors
The Terrace, a new assisted living facility, is open. The Terrace has 57 rooms. It is able to house around 60-70 residents. The residents will be encouraged to bring their personal belongings such as furniture and décor to make their room into a home. Both private and semi-private rooms will be available. There are three options in rooming, a studio, an large studio and a suite.
The facility is striving to make the residents feel at home and welcoming to guests. The wide hallways (6.5’) give ample room. The high ceilings (9’) with crown molding help to complete the home atmosphere. The foam insulation in the ceilings and walls has a dual purpose. It provides a barrier to the weather and also helps with sound absorption. In the main gathering area there will be two way stone fireplace. On the backside of the main area is a smaller Florida room with skylights that overlooks the courtyard. The facility has a generator powered by natural gas so that the residents will not have to evacuate during storms. There is 24 hours surveillance to protect the residents. In each hallway there will be small seating areas set up for games such as: checkers, cards, chess, etc. Many social activities are planned including a bridge club, canning, day trips, arts and crafts and much more. In the public areas there will be piped music. Each room will have a 32” flat screen TV. There will also be TV’s in the common areas. The top of the line kitchen can boast a walk-in refrigerator and freezer. The dining room has a coffee bar for residents and guests. The Director, Lonette Bentley, has over 20 years experience with geriatrics, says, “The residents become part of my family, and here the family comes. Check in later for an updated gallery.
