Jay / Central go head to head in Volleyball

In Varsity play the Lady Jaguars pulled out the match in 5 games.  The first varsity game went to Central 28-26. Central followed with 25-16 but Jay rallied in the third 25-8 then carried it on in the fourth game 25-19.  Into the fifth and final game of the match the girls from both teams were playing extremely well.  Central pulled into a lead after being tied 12 all  to win the match 15-12.

Stat leaders for the Central Lady Jaguars were:  Sarah Forsythe with 13 Aces, 11 Assists, and 8 Kills;  Brittany Forsythe with 6 Assists and 6 kills; Haleigh Padgett with 9 kills; and Makayla Simmons with 8 kills.  The service side of the game was key tonight, according to Central JV Coach Michelle Smith.

The Jay JV won the first game 25-11. The second game also went to Jay 25-12.  With this win the JV Royals took the match.

Jay also had their Senior Night- honoring the three senior Lady Royals.  Pictured below Tessa Hendricks, Shelby Barnhill and Haley Mulford.

Jay will host PCA and Rocky Bayou to finish the season and Central has two more away games facing them Northview on Thursday, then Tate before the District tournament hosted in Baker on October 24-26, 2011.
