Baptist Health Care Offers Wellness Events – October 2011

PENSACOLA, Fla. (Sept. 30, 2011) – Baptist Health Care offers a variety of educational and informational events each month. Throughout October, flu shots will be offered at six locations to the community as well as a presentation on breast cancer awareness. By providing these wellness events, Baptist hopes to improve community health through preventive care, education and support.

Tuesday, Oct. 4, 11:30 a.m. – “Breast Cancer Awareness”
Presented by Donna S. Campbell, Director of Cancer Services, Baptist Hospital

“Avoid the Flu – Get a Flu Shot”
Each year 5 to 20 percent of Americans get the flu, resulting in 36,000 deaths. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that people older than age 50 and those with chronic or long-term health conditions receive a flu shot.

Please join us at one of the six convenient locations to receive your vaccination. The Trivalent seasonal flu vaccine that is offered will also include the H1N1 vaccine. For your safety, be prepared to stay at least 20 minutes after receiving your flu vaccine.

Baptist Medical Park – Nine Mile, Azalea Room, 9400 University Parkway

Flu shots are $30 each and are payable by cash, check (made payable to Baptist Walk-In Care), or credit card (American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa).  Free for Medicare, Tricare, WellCare, Advantra Freedom, Humana Gold Choice, and Universal Health Care cardholders with your card. Your picture ID is required to receive the vaccination. You must be 18 or older to receive the vaccination.
