Jay/Central meet on Cross Country Course

The Cross Country meet held at Bray Hendricks City Park hosted by the Royals on Tuesday, Sept. 27 had both Boys and Girls running from six area teams they were: Jay, Central, Northview, Pensacola Christian, Ernest Ward Middle,and  Tate.

Girls Line up results: 1st-Jay, 2nd-PCA, 3rd-Northview, 4th-Central, 5th-Ernest Ward.

The Girls started the race first and Jay came out strong.  The overall winner for the Girls was Lauren Cochran,  from PCA.  Jessica Thorton, from Jay, came in second overall.  Jay was well balanced and the girls all placed in the top seven runners: Jorja Agrait – 3rd; Allison Blair-4th; Jenna Thorton-6th and Savannah Hawkins – 7th.  This made for an easy team win.  The girls scored 22 points.

The Central Jaguars as a team placed fourth.  Kennedy Fuller had a personal best of 25.08.

Boys Line up results: 1st-PCA, 2nd-Tate, 3rd-Central, 4th-Northview.

Micah Kemp was the overall winner for the boys with a time of 18.11.  The freshman was the lead runner for the entire race.  The Jay Royals were unable to qualify as a team due to injuries and illness sidelining all but 3 runners.  The Royals other two runners for Jay Casey Zylstra (21.42) and Cody Wolfe (21.45) had their personal best runs.

The boys for Central placed 3rd.   Kyle Fuller held the lead for Central with a time of 19.59. The Jaguars had 13 runners with Phillip O’Brian (24.40) and Morgan Givens (23.01) having their personal best in today’s race.
