Central Trounced Escambia County High
The Lady Jaguars won the match against the Escambia County Blue Devils in three straight games on Monday, September 12. The scores went in order 25-10, 25-14, and 25-15. The longest volley of the game went to Central. Makayla Simmons(#25) had 5 kills, Haleigh Padgett (#21) had 4 kills, and Sarah Forsythe (#23) had 3 kills. Arielle Harris (#20) led the team with 6 aces and Myranda Jernigan (#13) followed with 4 aces. Natalie Jernigan (#13) had the most assists with 7 and Sarah Forsythe had 6. Coach Melissa Baxley was proud of the ladies she stated, “they are playing better together as a team – supporting each other, with no one player trying to be a star.”
The Junior Varsity was scheduled to play but to transportation issues the Blue Devils arrived late and did not bring their JV. On Tuesday the Lady Jaguars will host the Jay Royals with games between the JV and Varsity with games at 4 pm and 5 pm.
