A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Lee Kent will be held for friends and family on Sunday, September 11th on the beach level of Hemingway’s on Pensacola Beach from 11 to 1. Lee, a resident of Gulf Breeze, left on August 27, 2011 for a fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico and was lost at sea.

Lee grew up in Jay, Florida and graduated from B.T. Washington High School in Pensacola, and Auburn University. He was a regional sales representative for United Rentals and an avid fisherman.

His family includes his wife, Kim Gerths Kent, daughter Lauren Elizabeth, mother and father, Janice and Lonnie Kent of Banner Elk, NC, brother and sister-in-law Lyonel and Danielle Kent of Knoxville, TN, and grandparents Frances Adele Rodeo and Willie Hamilton Jones, both of Jay, Florida.

His family would like to thank the U.S. Coast Guard for their search efforts and the friends and family who have offered support during this time.

Donations in Lee’s memory may be made to the Gulf Breeze Sertoma Club’s Annual Family Fishing Rodeo.
