America’s Largest Country Music Talent Show
Garth Brooks, Lee Greenwood, Willie Nelson, LeAnn Rimes, Barbara Mandrell, Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus – all performers at the Texaco Country Showdown – throughout the past 30 years.
Our area’s most talented country music singers competed for a chance to join them, as they performed in the district portion of the finals Saturday night, August 27, at Farmer’s Opry in Chumuckla. This national event is designed to find the most promising country music talent in America and to help launch their professional career.
The winner will advance to their respective state competitions held at leading fairs and expositions. The winner there will compete for a $1,000 prize, the State Title and the opportunity to advance to one of five regional finals. The last step is the national finals held in Nashville, TN – of which the winner receives the grand prize of $100,000.
