JHS Has New Band Director

Jay High School Royal Pride Band Welcomes New Director

The Jay High School Royal Pride Band is excited to welcome Mr. Collier McBride as its new Band Director for the 2026–2027 school year.

Mr. McBride brings a strong musical background, a passion for music education, and a commitment to building a positive and successful band program. A graduate of Choctawhatchee High School, he performed in the tuba section of the renowned Style Marchers for four years before continuing his musical education at Florida State University.

While at Florida State, Mr. McBride spent five years performing with the nationally recognized Marching Chiefs, one of the country’s premier collegiate marching bands. In May, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumental Music Education, preparing him to begin his career as a band director.

Band camp will officially begin July 20, marking the start of preparations for the upcoming marching season.

The Jay High School Band program encourages current and prospective band families, alumni, and community members to join in welcoming Mr. McBride to Jay. His enthusiasm, educational background, and performance experience make him a valuable addition to the Royal Pride tradition.

The Royal Pride Band looks forward to an exciting year ahead under Mr. McBride’s leadership and invites the community to support the students as they begin this new chapter together.
