Jay Girls Top Baker

Jay (4-1) defeated rival Baker on Thursday, 51-25. The Lady Royals came out firing on all cylinders, scoring 24 points in the first quarter to Baker’s 6.
Sophomore Emery Vaughn led all scores with 15, adding 8 rebounds. Point guard Presley Hawthorne recorded 7 assists. Georgia Lewis and Aubreigh Nelson both had 8 points as well.
“I was very pleased with the energy we had starting the game,” head coach Jorey Diamond stated. “We imposed our will defensively and played unselfishly throughout the game. It’s always good to get a district win.”
