Royals upset bid falls short…

@Jay- The Baker Gators came into Merle V. North with an undefeated record and left with one as well, barely. In a defensive fought game, Jay took the lead against their rivals 13-12 in the fourth quarter. After holding Baker on the ensuing drive, the Royals had to punt back to the Gators. With just under four minutes left in the game and facing a 3rd and 15 from their own 45 yard line, Joe Brunson of Baker broke free on a run and scored on a 55 yard touchdown. Jay blocked the ensuing extra point. Capitalizing  on a pass interference call and a couple of really nice runs, Jay found themselves facing a 4th and 1 on Baker’s 20 yard line, down 18-13 with 1:02 on the clock. Casen Burkett ran a quarterback keeper play, but did not get the first down.

Up next for Jay is at Chipley.
